Interport
Interport rugby against KR&AC

The port city of Kobe, like Yokohama, was one of the first in Japan to provide a home to large numbers of expatriates, and the Kobe Regatta & Athletic club has a history as long as that of the YC&AC. The two clubs have been playing an annual rugby fixture since 1902, and in recent years that fixture has been the final one of our regular season.
The game generally alternates between our ground and theirs, although after the great Hanshin earthquake of 1995 it was played in Yokohama for 3 years in a row.
The match-up for 2002/3 took place in the middle of a massive rainstorm in Yokohama and was won 29-11 by YCAC. To finish the 2003/04 season we travelled to Kobe and, for the first time for 20 years, recorded an away victory. Not just an average victory either – a 42-6 thumping. Well done lads!
After a fantastic away triumph in 2004, YCAC went one better in 2005 with a record-breaking 69-5 victory at home. What could be better than that? We found out in 2006 when the record was smashed again, this time at KRAC’s ground, when we thrashed them 90-0.
In 2007 we made it a fantastic five in a row with a 28-10 win in Yokohama.
Of the 87 matches played since the first (with a few stops for world wars and earthquakes) YCAC have now won 54, KRAC have won 30 and there have been 4 draws.
